What is your latest zombie release?

‘Ghosts: Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse’ was published on 1/7/2015.

 IMG_3497

Quick description of it.

Ghosts is a 128,000 word post-apocalyptic thriller set in a thoroughly devastated United States. The fast paced romp through the western states features not only hard-charging soldiers in camouflage and body armor taking the fight to their living and undead enemies, but also regular citizens doing their best to survive the zombie apocalypse.Thrown into the mix are strong female characters, a group of younger survivors, and a host of human baddies my readers love to hate.

Something unique about it.

Ghosts and my STZA series in general, appeals to readers of all ages by combining a military themed romp across post- apocalyptic America, featuring stealth helicopters and exotic weaponry, with an intertwined and ongoing story arc that follows a group of civilian preppers who are also struggling to survive the zombie apocalypse. The characters hail from all walks of life and have vastly different skill sets that are continually on display during this ongoing series full of fast paced and non-stop action. Links for people to buy it.

Midway; A Harvesting Series Novella

Final His Res Ebook Cover Midway

The Shadow Aspect, Book II in The Harvesting Series

High Res Final Ebook Cover the shadow aspect

Quick description of it (no spoilers)

Midway:

Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, for the beginning of the end.

Carnie. Ride jockey. Roustabout. White trash. Tilt girl. Gypsy. Cricket has been called a lot of things, but she never thought survivor of the zombie apocalypse would be one of them. One day she’s barking on the midway, and the next day, the world is eating itself alive.

Cricket, along with Vella, a tarot reader, and Puck, Cricket’s mangy mutt, find themselves running for their lives, but where can you hide when mankind has fallen? Cricket will need help if she hopes to survive.

Luckily for her, we were never really alone, and apparently, magical forces want to keep this tilt girl alive.

Join Cricket in this unique zombie apocalypse series. It’s all fun and games until someone ends up undead!

The Shadow Aspect:

When Layla took the final step through the labyrinth, she thought she was saving the ones she loved.

She couldn’t have been more wrong.

Layla and the other survivors now find themselves caught in a war for our world, the unwitting victims of a grudge seething for eons. Surviving the zombie apocalypse has become the least of their worries as they come up against vampires, shapeshifters, and fae. When she uncovers an unspeakable horror, whom can Layla trust? The carnie girl? The doctor searching for a cure? The tarot reader? The stranger with alluring gold eyes? Or the man she loves?

The wrong choice could doom them all.

When the world burns, mankind’s shadow side rises. Do we deserve to survive?

Continue this award-winning zombie/dark fantasy genre mash-up series in Book 2, The Shadow Aspect.

Something unique about it.

The Harvesting Series isn’t just about zombies. The zombie apocalypse kicks off a chain of events that slowly reveals the true make-up of our world. My zombie series is a dark fantasy mashup. You will find other supernatural creatures and folklore elements in the book. Think of it as a modern day Lord of the Rings.

The Shadow Aspect is Book II of my Harvesting Series. In this book, Layla and her group are fighting to survive in a crumbling world.

Midway: A Harvesting Series Novella is a 1.5 in The Harvesting Series. It can be read either before or after The Harvesting, Book I in this series. The novella features Cricket, a carnie girl, and Vella, the resident Tarot reader. Cricket and Vella, who are really Mulder and Scully types, find themselves on the run at the beginning of the end of days. I played a lot with Tarot symbolism in this novella, pulling in some of the other supernatural elements in this series.

Your short Bio.

Rebecca Besser resides in Ohio with her wonderful husband and amazing son. They’ve come to accept her quirks as normal while she writes anything and everything that makes her inner demons squeal with delight. She’s best known for her work in adult horror, but has been published in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for a variety of age groups and genres. She’s entirely too cute to be scary in person, so she turns to the page to instill fear into the hearts of the masses.

This is my real name, by the way. Once, I googled myself and found a forum post somewhere about cool stage names, and Leah Rhyne was on the list. This made me laugh, because – ha ha, I got it first! Legitimately, too! I didn’t have to make it up.

What is your latest zombie release?

Jenna’s War, which is the third and final book in my Undead America zombie series.

 Jennas War 333x500

Quick description of it (no spoilers)

Oh man. Jenna Price is my main girl. She’s survived the initial zombie outbreak. She’s survived madmen posing as saviors, and a brutal holocaust in the south. She’s survived the loss of everything and (almost) everyone she once held most dear. She’s worked so hard to recreate something close to a civilized life for her and her closest friends.

But now, in Jenna’s War, she’ll be faced with the end of everything for which she’s worked. She’ll have to go back to where it all started, New York City, in search of more survivors, in hopes of finding a cure. And if, along the way, she has to say goodbye to someone special…well, that’s just life in Undead America, now, isn’t it?

Something unique about it.

In Undead America, it’s not the zombies you need to fear: it’s the people. That holds true throughout the entire series. While there are plenty of fun zombies, and lots of blood, guts, and gore, it’s the creepy, nasty characters who come to the forefront of society that make Undead America a truly icky ride.

All Good Things, Book 3 in The Breadwinner Trilogy

All Good Things - Official Cover

Quick description of it (no spoilers)

Our group of survivors have grown too comfortable behind the walls of their fortified resort in the city of Haven… and the zombies are no longer their biggest threat.  Who will make it out alive?  Remember, in the world of The Breadwinner Trilogy, the end of the world is not glamorous, and shit’s about to hit the fan.

Something unique about it.

As with Haven (book two in The Breadwinner Trilogy) there’s this awesome line between good and evil that gets crossed.  Sometimes you have to be bad to be good and vice versa.  In book two we saw the origins of the antagonist, in book three we get to see her really show how awful she can be… but it’s all in the name of survival, right?  Right???!!!!

You can purchase it anywhere but honestly, Amazon is where it’s at.  Two day shipping for Prime, c’mon, what gets better than that?  http://www.amazon.com/Good-Things-Breadwinner-Trilogy-Book-ebook/dp/B00WN3NV8A/

What is your latest zombie release?

I have written 7 zombie novels, but my latest is Jake’s Law from Severed Press.

 From-the-Depths-new ebook-cover

Quick description of it (no spoilers)

Jake Blakely, a loner, prepper ex-cop hiding out in the mountains north of Tucson, Arizona develops his own set of laws, Jake’s Laws, to survive in a world of zombies and bad guys. However, he didn’t count on loneliness being the worst enemy he would face. He slowly learns to appreciate the company of others and to accept the mantle of lawman.

Something unique about it.

Jake’s Law is more about survival than about killing zombies. I use a lot of prepper lore I picked up from survivalist friends in Arizona. Using a location with which I am familiar allowed me to use the stark deserts and mountains of Arizona as a secondary character, where heat or sudden monsoon downpours can be as deadly as zombies.
